My daughter and I became friends with Hugo Chang, original owner of the venue. When he built the studio/ballroom from scratch including laying the maple floor, he invited me to be the Director. For five years, I had the privilege of working with him. We hosted celebrations, various dance genres, including my tango classes. This event was about 2006. Joel was 18.
